Public Relations Tip #37 - Public Relations and Human Interest

Public Relations Tip #37 - Public Relations and Human Interest Stories

Here's a quickie to consider ...

The reason some stories are called 'human interest' stories is because of that name ... human interest.

These stories are interesting about humans, and other humans are interested in these stories. Some times these are positive stories; other times they're negative.

Both have their place and their audience. And both are welcomed at most news organizations because there are usually too few 'human interest stories' going around.

Those stories that surround Hurricane Katrina victims are the exception ... they are prevalent these days. That said, do something wonderful for a Hurricane Katrina victim today, and generate your own human interest stories.
